We are recruiting for an Underwriting Assistant to be based in our Australian Insurance office, with a hybrid working model that currently includes the option to work remotely up to two days per week. While we aim to support flexibility where possible, remote working arrangements may evolve over time in response to business needs.

Role Purpose:

To primarily support the Underwriters across new or existing classes of business written by Everest International Insurance, whilst working as a member of the Operations Underwriting Support team to deliver accurate risk, record keeping and reporting. As part of a small team you will support multi line underwriting teams such as Property, Energy, Liability, Marine, Aviation, Financial Lines or A&H.

Key Accountabilities:

To summarize slip terms and conditions, calculate premiums and exposures and ensure complete accurate entry of submissions, quotes, risks, endorsements and transactions to the Everest Underwriting System(s) so as to ensure correct management, statistical and regulatory reporting.  Perform routine and ad hoc data quality checks to maintain accuracy of underwriting records.Maintain a comprehensive and organized electronic audit trail by storing all risk-related documents and correspondence in the designated document repository system.Ensure that all relevant underwriting information is included for the peer review, risk entry and data checking review process within the designated timeframe. Underwriting information submitted electronically to be indexed and updated as appropriate within specified timeframes. Monitor and update electronically submitted data as necessary.Maintain tools containing key underwriting information to facilitate compliance sanctions, fraud and financial crime checks pre bind and monitoring post bind.Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to Underwriters throughout the underwriting process, including assistance with management information (MI) production, business development activities, and marketing support.. Deliver broader administrative and operational support to the Underwriting and Operations teams, particularly in areas such as credit control, data integrity, training, and the implementation of process improvements.Act as a key liaison between onshore teams and the offshore partner, facilitating workflow management, ensuring clear communication of expectations, coordinating handoffs, and supporting quality control measures to optimize team efficiency and service delivery.Assist in coordinating operational projects and initiatives, including documentation of procedures, continuous improvement efforts, and cross-functional collaboration. Undertake other ad hoc administrative or operational tasks as assigned by the Head of Operations to support business continuity and operational effectiveness.Provide cross-class underwriting support as required, contributing to flexibility and collaboration across the broader team. All functions to be performed in accordance with Everest target operating model, policies and specific procedure manuals, as amended from time to time.Any other duties as directed

Professional Experience:

At least 12 months relevant experience of working in an underwriting support role or an Insurance Operations role.Knowledge of one of the following lines; Energy, Marine, Aviation, Financial Lines and /or A&H business is desiredAbility to deal with internal and external stakeholdersKnowledge of underwriting, claims and facultative reinsurance processes
