Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a Track Design Engineer to join our Rail & Transit team in Toronto, ON. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to major transportation infrastructure projects, including a multi-year assignment based full-time at a Metrolinx office in downtown Toronto as part of the On Corridor Works project team.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the planning and design of commuter and light rail track systemsPrepare and review technical drawings and track alignment plansAssist in coordinating with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project deliveryConduct design reviews for compliance with applicable standards and specificationsParticipate in value engineering, design standard variances, and quality assurance processesProvide input on cost estimates, schedules, and construction documentsCollaborate with internal teams, clients, consultants, and contractors

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil EngineeringMinimum 6 years of experience in rail or transit track designP.Eng. designation in Ontario (or eligibility within 6 months)Knowledge of AREMA and applicable transit and freight standards (Metrolinx, CN, CP)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working on commuter rail, light rail, or Class 1 railroad projectsFamiliarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or other track and grading design toolsExposure to integrated rail systems (signals, traction power, communications) is an assetExperience with embedded and direct fixation track systems is a plusStrong written and verbal communication skills
