The Collections department is responsible for maximizing recoveries and minimizing losses on Tangerine's credit portfolio. This includes analyzing the delinquency portfolio, monitoring client activities, and ensuring precautionary actions are taken to mitigate losses while adhering to regulations, credit policies, and procedures.
What you will be doing:
As the Manager, Vendor Management, you will report directly to the Senior Manager, Collection Operations. You will lead the third-party vendor strategy with a strong focus on managing performance metrics to enhance recoveries on both pre- and post-charge-off accounts.
Your responsibilities will include managing the performance of vendors involved in:
First-party pre-charge-off collections for Tangerine retail products Late-stage, post-charge-off collections, settlements, and legal action Insolvency and Credit Counselling management Supporting post-asset-sale operations and inquiries
You will be responsible for maximizing recoveries across all products to reduce risk and loss exposure. This includes ongoing analysis and reporting to management on market and economic trends, irregular activity, and portfolio exposures through regular collaboration with the Fraud and Security Department.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
Lead the third-party vendor strategy, focusing on performance metrics to enhance recoveries
Produce reports to accurately monitor performance and KPIs
Ensure plans and initiatives comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures, including recovery management
Lead and oversee the Tangerine vendor management team, assisting in training and development, and providing coaching and feedback
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
A university or college degree A minimum of 5 years of operational collections management experience Developed knowledge of current collection practices, including collection agencies, insolvency, credit counselling, mortgage enforcement, debt sale processes, and relevant regulatory requirements to assess risk and impact Previous experience as a people leader, managing and developing employees Strong knowledge of secured and unsecured lending products Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills
