The Testing Digital and Data Acquisition Engineer is responsible for the development, maintenance, setup and applicability of the data acquisition and calculation software in the testing area of Florence, Massa and Avenza plants. The string test involve checking the operability, the performance, and the rotodynamic behavior of Baker Hughes rotating equipment, such as electric motors and generators, gas turbines, gear boxes and centrifugal compressors.

In is mission He/She is also responsible to drive #Digitalization of test methodology and the implementation of the related technologies.

As Testing Digital and Data Acquisition Engineer you will be responsible of:

Design and setting up the data acquisition systems, check the correct functionality of the automatic measurement systems, software interfaces, calculations modules and data storage according to the test specifications and related documentation.Data acquisition activities during test execution, the data registration, the data quality and the corrective actions in case of data or calculation errors, the data analysis to get anomalies on the tested equipment.Data post processing to get anomalies on the tested equipment not immediately visible.Data post processing to generate the documents and certificates for the Baker Hughes customers that requires the test.The development of the data acquisition system, calculation and analysis, including the software, the selection and verification of hardware measurement systems and the definition of the data acquisition practice applied during the test.The development and the verification of the digital systems in the testing area, including network and system segregations, management systems and servers.Manage relationships and meetings with Engineering and Information Technology departments.

To be successful in this role you will:
 

Have a Master's Degree in the fields of automation, electronic, energy, telecommunication, informatic, mathematic or physics a or Technical Diploma with relevant experienceHave a holistic design mindset for solutions that involve hardware, software and network equipmentKnowledge of the data analysis algorithms, including the manipulation of large amount of data, waveform analysis, thermodynamic calculations and machine learning conceptsCompetence in computer programming using one or more language such as: Fortran, Python, VB.NET, C#, LabVIEW or PLC programmingProven capacity of understanding technical drawing and specification.Competence in use of high precision measurement systemIs preferred the knowledge of the industrial communication protocolsWork experience as software developer or system control designer for at least two yearsDemonstrate excellent communication and presentation skillsBe fluent in English and Italian languages and be able to work in EU
