Job Description

The Team Leader is responsible to assist the Team Manager with facilitating a production team, including: scheduling, distribution of tasks, resources and communication of production targets. The team leader will provide leadership and direction that will promote safe work practices and improve quality and productivity.  When working in production, you will be responsible for leading and coaching proper machine set-ups, changeovers, problem solving, operating and making machine adjustments.

Shift: 2nd Shift (M-F) 3:45pm-12:00am

Starting hiring rate: $31.94

In this role, you will also be responsible for: 

Working Lead with time split between production and administrative duties. The team lead will work on the production lines most days, and will have administrative responsibilities too. This may require overtime prior and after designated shifts. 

Lead the efforts to identify the root cause and put preventative actions in place for safety and quality related issues using basic ELS problem solving tools.

Collaborate with other functional areas to resolve problems and develop improved manufacturing processes.

At times, coordinate the daily production activities of the Production Team Members on your shift.

Make certain that all employees are following the Standard Operating Procedures and training instructions.

At times, coordinating overtime based on business needs in compliance with Avery Dennison’s overtime policy.

Supporting hands on training for the shift

Assisting Team Manager with tracking and communicating performance metrics for tier process and shift hand off.

Supporting Cycle count program

Supporting Safety and quality investigations

Supporting ELS projects for the shift and complete white belt training upon moving into the role, with anticipation for the individual to continue towards yellow and green belt. 

Acting as back up for the team manager and providing team direction in the manager’s place.

Tracks and provides feedback to the Manager on Team Member’s performance, and participates in the Team Member Performance Review process.

Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.

Strong written, math, and oral communication skills.

Have general knowledge and be able to work with computers and programs (Excel, Google (doc, sheets, and slides) Word, MFG PRO).

Regard safety as a core value; must be willing and able to work safely; must always wear PPE.

Must have a strong service and quality focus, be able to address issues effectively when problems arise, and take initiative to understand the root cause then communicate/educate the team in a timely manner. 

Must have demonstrated record of flexibility and dependability in order to support production and customer focus.

Demonstrated initiative, integrity, and judgment skills

Demonstrate record of embracing and contributing to daily ELS processes and tools - MDI, standard work, 5S, etc.

Positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and demonstrated reliability.

Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds without assistance periodically through the shift.
