**What You Can Expect**
Responsible for oversight of the sales, use and property tax function for all relevant domestic companies.
**How You'll Create Impact**
**Manage Sales & Use and Property Tax Audits, including:**
Working across functions within the company to obtain and analyze information, ensuring that such information is accurate, complete and in line with the information requested by the state taxing authorities.
Ensuring informataion is provided to the state taxing authorities within the pre-agreed upon due dates, or to the extent the dates cannot be met, ensuring communication is made to adequately inform of delays and negotiate due date extensions.
Research and resolve issues identified throughout the audit process and communicate the results to the state taxing authorities and upper management, as necessary.
Develop the negotiating strategy and process for settling audits for discussion with State & Local Tax Manager and Domestic Tax director; and
Identify and implement process improvements resulting from material audit adjustments
**Responsible for oversight and management of third-party sales and use tax outsourcing company, including:**
Compilation of accurate detailed source data to support filing of sales and use tax returns
Review of sales & use tax returns prepared by the third-party outsourcing firm
Preparation, analysis and interpretation of monthly compliance reports
Research / resolve issues identified during the return preparation process to ensure accuracy of filings
**Responsible for performing and/ or managing periodic reverse use tax audits for all U.S. manufacturing sites.**
**Management of use tax accruals for all domestic companies including education and training of relevant personnel to ensure proper use tax accruals.**
**Maintain integrity of product taxability status to ensure compliance, including the tracking and analysis of tax law changes in all jurisdictions and updating of the product taxability matrix in Vertex TDM. Also includes responding to inquiries from external and internal customers regarding the taxable nature of Zimmer Products.**
**Administration of Property Tax Compliance process, including:**
Preparation of Annual Property Tax Returns (includes analysis of fixed asset detail to determine proper classification and value of property)
Maintenance of compliance software;
Tracking of assessments and bills and reconciling payment requirements;
Management of property tax accrual and reserve requirements.
Tracking/controlling property tax notices; and
Researching and resolving issues identified during the return preparation process to ensure accuracy and timeliness of filings.
**Assist with state & local planning and/or integration projects, including state income tax compliance projects, as assigned.**

Handling time-sensitive monthly tax compliance tasks.
Strong analytical mindset to handle large amounts of tax data.
**Your Background**
English proficiency is **required** (B2)
An undergraduate degree in accounting or business is required.
3-5 years of relevant work experience in Sales & Use tax experience in a corporate or governmental environment.
Proficiency in indirect taxes, including sales tax, property tax, and business licenses.
Experience working in high-visibility roles where customer satisfaction is critical.
Familiarity with Vertex tax processing software (preferred).
