Join us in our second year of the Sustainability Internship Programme.

The purpose of this role will be to further progress work undertaken to date, related to the decommissioning of natural gas-fired boilers at our Deeside facility. 

This project supports the site's sustainability goals and preparation for ISO 50 001 certification. 

The purpose of this role will be to further progress work undertaken to date, to identify energy loss areas across the site, and to investigate feasible solutions to bridge the gap and help the Deeside site achieve its goals. 

This work will involve market research of available solutions, costings of implementation, and working with energy data to validate savings.

100% paid internship – 1891.66 GBP monthly gross.

3 to 6 Mmnths Internship

Hours per week – 20h/week (up to 40h/week).

Key responsibilities and accountabilities  

Working closely with the Sustainability Engineer, your role is to understand facilities requirements at the Deeside manufacturing site with the intended goal of decarbonising the process, in line with Scope 1 sustainability demands. This includes gathering and analysing information to present the business case. 

Identify 3-5 key achievable projects in reducing our carbon emissions that can make a significant difference to Convatec.  

Work closely with suppliers to gather the relevant information related to a project’s cost to implement, savings, and associated carbon reduction. 

Monitor Scope 1 & 2 energy and carbon data and compile easy-to-read reports 

Present findings to Site teams / Sustainability / Leadership Team
