As a Support Engineer at Qualcomm, you will significantly contribute to our product improvement and work with other Engineers to sustain aspects of our product development life cycle. Support Engineers will also play a critical role in resolving technical system issues that promote product reliability. Role description
Vehicle build support
Vehicle and measurement equipment mechanical installation and electrical wiring, spare part replacement, troubleshooting, part handling and purchase, etc
Vehicle support
Service, tire mangement and maintenace
DC vehicles global support for vehicle issues
Coordination with vehicle workshops internal Linköping and globally
Measurement system support
SW configuration, sensor measurements, verification and maintenance tasks
Responsibility for following vehicle related coordination tasks:
Vehicle Ownership, purchase, documentation, COCs, loan agreements, etc
Vehicle insurance (inhouse vehicles, BMW loan vehicles, global insurance for DC vehicles)
Part handling and part purchase for vehicle build, support part handling system and process
Iproc/invoices/late payments/coordingation with suppliers
Drivers trainings support coordination
Assist in planning, documentation and execution
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.OR
Associate's degree and 3+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
• Certification in Electronics or related area.
• Military experience or training in electronics field (Rank E5+ 2 years).
• 4+ years of experience with digital HW, SW, and/or analog RF troubleshooting and debugging.
• 4+ years of experience in a lab environment.
• 2+ years in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
• 2+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides organizational or development support from initial concept through completion phases of the project with minimal supervision.
• Provides support for engineers and recommendations on design approaches, layout, and parameters for large projects with minimal guidance.
• Installs, upgrades, configures, and helps operate company products and/or components based on specifications, tolerances and reliability. Monitors product performance, analyzes moderately complex failures or malfunctions, and suggests corrective action.
• Gathers, integrates, and interprets data and information from various sources and stakeholders to understand moderately complex specifications and develop solutions.
• Manages and/or executes on own project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables for small to mid-sized projects.
• Collaborates with individuals inside and outside of own function to integrate projects and/or ensure changes work with other components of a specific project.
Level of Responsibility:
• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
• Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).
• Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
