This is a 3rd shift position. Shift 10:00pm – 6:00am
POSITION INFORMATION:
Job Purpose:
Front line supervisor of machinists and electricians, occasionally building services or facilities. Supervise and communicate with direct reports, communicate with planners, customers, and management. Lend guidance to machinists and electricians when trouble shooting. Ensure equipment uptime, respond to emergencies as required. Audit for job completion, customer satisfaction, safe working practices, the use of PPE, and for proper Maximo data. Develop the skill of machinists and electricians to ensure ability to complete all jobs necessary. Complete shift reports, maintain proper time keeping, ensure shifts are properly staffed.Tasks Performed:
Lead, coach, mentor, motivate and inspire direct reports to achieve optimum resultsEnsure compliance to the schedule for PM and scheduled work.Communicate with the planner to understand the priorities, scope, and work to be done.Communicate with the customer to understand issues, maintain uptime, ensure customer satisfaction.Maintain a culture of safety by auditing for PPE compliance, coaching employees through difficult jobs, ensuring the right tools are being used, and discussing safety regularly. Be involved in correcting safety issues throughout the plant.Use technical skills to assist and guide the work force.Complete time keeping correctly.Strive for continuous improvement throughout the plant.Meet the Maintenance Department KPI’s.Use Maximo for all facets of the job, ensuring good long descriptions, ensuring the customer is submitting work orders, working with the planner to prioritize.Audit for PM compliance and accuracy. Work with the technicians to develop more and improved proactive opportunities.Share knowledge up and down the org chart and across shifts.Directs, monitors, and appraises the performance of all direct reports, provides regular feedback to direct reports in the form of Annual reviews, quarterly reviews, and informal feedback sessions.Coordinates plant work with other departments to ensure jobs get completed according to specification of the job.Performs additional duties as assigned.Minimum Requirements:
Ability to provide excellent customer service while leading technicians in problem solving.Keep equipment running by using knowledge of the production operation combined with solid technical knowledge.Maintain a safety-first attitude.Work closely with the planners and customers to determine work priorities.The Washington Post’s policy for employees is five days per week in the office, with exceptions for newsgathering and general business travel.

The salary range for this position is:
74,000.00 - 111,000.00 USD AnnualThe actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
