**Staff Engineer, Materials** **(Permanent Position)** **Position Summary** The Staff Materials Engineer will develop and lead our material management strategy and drive high-impact technical initiatives to resolve technical material issues that impact product quality, performance, and supply continuity. They will be a SME across a number of Engineering competencies including Lean six sigma, manufacturing and materials. **What you will do:** + Management of significant Engineering projects through PMO. + Interface with Materials Science, Design and Quality Assurance departments to provide customer with a quality product in a timely manner. + Provide support to Process Development / Advanced Operations on technology development and application within the manufacturing process. + Provide Technical leadership from an engineering perspective. + Ensure quality of process and product as defined in appropriate OS and Material specifications. + Engage in the implementation of lean manufacture within manufacturing. + Validation, Appraisal and support of suppliers, and raw material + Support process development and cost reduction activities within the business units. **What you will need:** **Required** + Level 8 Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering. + 4 plus years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. + Experience in material selection, material processing, extrusion, and injection molding with medical grade materials. **Desired** + Proven Project Management skills through the delivery of business critical projects. + Strong communication and influencing skills with both internal and external agents. + Capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team in an aggressive, dynamic and results motivated environment + Demonstrable strong analytical & problem solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment \#IJ \#INDEMEA Stryker is a global leader in medical technologies and, together with its customers, is driven to make healthcare better.
