Sr. Risk Manager, ABPL

Amazon is seeking an experienced Sr. Risk Manager to drive our Amazon B2B Payments and Lending (ABPL) abuse management program. The candidate will be responsible to building out and and scaling our new abuse prevention capabilities, mechanisms, and processes and will work across business, product, payments, machine learning, operations, policy, and legal teams. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in a fast paced, technical, and high energy environment. They are critical thinkers, analytical, innovative, and resourceful with a history of solving complex and ambiguous problems. As this is a global and cross-functional role, the candidate will leverage their program and stakeholder management skillsets to define strategies, influence leaders and stakeholders, and collaborate with partner teams to execute a plan. Key job responsibilities • Managing end-to-end credit abuse strategy across customer lifecycle • Assist in defining policies and product features to support credit abuse decisioning and monitoring • Establish, constantly improve, and be a thought leader for how we balance managing credit abuse and customer experience • Develop processes, mechanisms and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to grow efficiently and in a scalable way • Partner with product, science, tech, and operation teams to execute on credit abuse strategy and operations underwriting operations on complex credit decisions that require manual reviews or exceptions • Identify innovations and drive experiments that provide customers with a great payment experience • Identify, monitor and communicate the right metrics to measure decision quality and portfolio health • Participate in program operations, partner with product managers and contribute to team-wide improvement goals A day in the life Amazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children. Basic Qualifications - 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience - Working knowledge of SQL and Python, and experience in processing complex datasets from multiple sources - Clear examples of demonstrated judgment and strategic insight - Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders - Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to recognize non-obvious patterns - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal - High attention to detail and desire to roll up sleeves and solve problems at root cause - Effective time management, prioritization, and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications - MBA, CFA or Master's Degree in relevant fields - Experience working in commercial credit, abuse, or fraud management - Experience in standing up a brand new fraud, abuse, or risk management program Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
