Job Description
Core Job Responsibilities:
+ Provide scientific and technical leadership to ensure professional and credible relationships with thought leaders and external experts.
+ Ensure a strong medical and scientific presence for AbbVie in key academic centers through the facilitation of research and educational initiatives, as well as support requests for medical and scientific information.
+ Support internal teams such as sales and marketing in developing their scientific and technical expertise through presentations and work collaboratively across functions while maintaining functional independence.
+ Serve as a point of contact within the Medical Affairs team for thought leaders and external experts within the assigned therapeutic area to satisfy their needs for scientific knowledge and support the safe and effective use of AbbVie medicines.
+ Deliver credible scientific presentations to physicians, particularly Tier 1 and 2 thought leaders.
+ Participate in identifying qualified thought leaders for collaborative efforts such as research collaborations or advisory roles, ensuring scientific and educational integrity.
+ Facilitate the communication of medical and scientific field intelligence within the company.
+ Attend scientific meetings and conferences, collaborating on the development of summaries of key data to inform AbbVie’s strategic priorities.
+ Provide scientific and technical support for publications of scientific or medical interest to key thought leaders and internal teams.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
+ Advanced degree (e.g., MD, PhD, master's in clinical pharmacy) in an Immunology scientific discipline is preferred.
+ More than two years of experience in scientific engagement with physicians is preferred.
+ Experience with evidence generation, such as concept sheet development and IIS start-ups, is a plus.
+ Experience in developing and maintaining expert knowledge in the assigned therapeutic area and medical research.
+ Demonstrated expertise in scientific methods applied to clinical research and current legislative/regulatory controls.
+ Demonstrated ability in the design and execution of medical events, symposiums, or related scientific seminars is preferred.
+ Ability to learn comprehensively about new subject areas and environments.
+ Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with thought leaders, physicians, and other healthcare decision-makers.
+ A good understanding of written and oral English is required.
+ High customer orientation.
+ Strong commitment to compliance, scientific quality, and integrity.
