Data Engineer position – Roles and Responsibilities

Creates data collection frameworks for structured and unstructured data.Uses a systematic approach to plan, create, and maintain data architectures while also keeping it aligned with business requirements.Develops and maintains infrastructure systems (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes, data lakehouse) including data access APIs. Prepares and manipulates data using multiple technologies.Applies data extraction, transformation and loading techniques in order to connect large data sets from a variety of sources.Applies and implements best practices for data auditing, scalability, reliability and application performance.Improves data engineering job knowledge by attending educational workshops, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices and participating in professional societies.Developing software applications using relational and Nosql databases.

Qualifications

5+ years exp with object oriented programming (Python).Experience in applying architectural patterns, such as MVC, Microservices, Event-driven, etc.Must demonstrate strong technical knowledge of Spark and py-spark framework as well as data structures.Hands on experience with Data analytics tools such as PowerBI, Tableau , Knime etc.Hands on experience with batch or stream processing systems such as Apache Spark, Flink, etcHands on experience with developing software applications using relational and Nosql databases.Hands on experience with cloud computing platforms preferably AzureWell versed with operating systems preferably Linux and Windows
