Description Amazon Last Mile Technology is the team that enables super-fast delivery for Amazon. We build products and technology that enables the stations and drivers to deliver your packages from their last stop to your home. We need rock start software development engineers to join several new initiatives. As a key member of Last Mile Delivery Technology, you will be an innovator, playing a direct role in shaping and building products that partner teams rely on and customers love on top of Amazon's technology. As an SDE-II at Amazon, you will have the opportunity to positively impact millions of customers by identifying opportunities, designing solutions, collaborating with world-class engineers and delivering large, impactful, end-to-end projects and improvements. Key job responsibilities - Design, develop, implement, test, and document embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems and services. - Translate functional requirements into robust, efficient, supportable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture. - Participate in the full development cycle, end-to-end, from design, implementation, and testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance. - Produce comprehensive, usable software documentation. - Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools. - Mentor junior development engineers. Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
