Furthermore, the department is dedicated to the continuous improvement of procurement processes, leveraging best practices to optimize efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance overall supply chain performance in our operations.
Job Description

Are you a results-oriented procurement professional with a passion for driving strategic value through expert negotiation and category management? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to spearhead the development and execution of procurement strategies for our Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) portfolio. This critical role will be instrumental in shaping our supplier relationships, optimizing our cost structure, and ensuring a resilient and high-performing supply base.

As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of strategic procurement activities, including in-depth market analysis, the identification and qualification of key ODM partners, and the development of comprehensive category strategies. Your expertise in negotiation will be paramount as you lead complex negotiations to secure favorable terms and establish robust contractual frameworks. You will also be a key driver in fostering strong, collaborative relationships with our ODM suppliers, ensuring alignment on strategic objectives and continuous performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute sophisticated procurement and category management strategies for assigned ODM commodities and suppliers, aligning with overall business objectives and risk mitigation strategies.

Lead complex and strategic negotiations with ODM suppliers to achieve optimal total cost of ownership, including pricing, payment terms, quality standards, and delivery schedules.

Conduct in-depth market analysis and benchmarking to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks within relevant commodity markets.

Drive strategic supplier relationship management, including establishing clear performance expectations, conducting regular business reviews, and fostering collaborative partnerships for mutual benefit.

Own the end-to-end contract lifecycle, from drafting and negotiating to execution and governance, ensuring compliance and mitigating potential risks.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance) to ensure alignment on procurement strategies and to effectively support new product introductions and ongoing operations.

Proactively identify and implement cost optimization initiatives and drive continuous improvement within the procurement process.

Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor supplier performance, identify areas for improvement, and report on procurement outcomes.

Mentor and provide guidance to junior procurement team members, fostering a culture of excellence within the department.

Contribute to the development and implementation of best-in-class procurement policies and procedures.


Basic Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in strategic procurement, category management, and/or commodity procurement.

Proven track record of leading complex negotiations and achieving significant cost savings.

Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful category management strategies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.

Excellent understanding of contract law and best practices in contract management.

Proficiency in procurement software and tools, including ERP systems.

Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus at all levels.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and global environment.

Strong ethical principles, a proactive approach, and a high degree of self-motivation.

Willingness to work in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
