**How you’ll have an impact at Paula’s Choice:**
The creative team serves as the visual catalyst for the Paula’s Choice brand. As a Senior Print & Packaging Designer, you will play a key role in shaping our brand identity through innovative packaging solutions. You will have the opportunity to influence branding and printed collateral, ensuring that our products stand out on shelves and online.
In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally with product development, marketing, and creative teams to design and execute packaging that aligns with brand strategy, regulatory requirements, and evolving market trends. You will also help streamline processes, support sustainability initiatives, and oversee one direct report.
**As a Senior Print & Packaging Designer, a typical day might include a mix of the following:**
+ **Develop and produce** packaging concepts, dielines, and production-ready mechanicals.
+ **Review and approve** packaging production samples, proofs, and vendor prototypes for accuracy and quality.
+ **Strategize and develop** packaging solutions in collaboration with product development, marketing, and creative teams—including both primary (component) and secondary packaging.
+ **Ensure brand consistency** while maintaining compliance with regulatory packaging standards (e.g., FDA, EU regulations) and verifying packaging functionality.
+ **Work within an agile team structure** to optimize new and existing packaging collateral, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
+ **Support sustainability initiatives** by integrating eco-friendly materials and production processes into packaging solutions.
+ **Collaborate closely with suppliers and vendors** to evaluate materials, ensure cost-effectiveness, and troubleshoot production challenges.
+ **Incorporate user experience (UX) best practices** into packaging design, considering ease of use, unboxing experience, and brand storytelling.
+ **Utilize 3D design tools** (such as KeyShot, Cinema 4D, Blender, or Esko Studio) to visualize packaging concepts before production.
+ **Streamline processes** to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality of executions.
+ **Support, manage, and mentor** two direct reports, fostering professional growth.
+ **Contribute to broader creative initiatives** and assist with additional design projects and collaborating with Senior Digital Designer as needed.
**The Details:**
+ **Location: Our headquarters are located in Seattle, WA. While we have a preference for local candidates, we are open to considering remote** **West Coast** **based applicants.**
+ Hours: Typical business hours; some flexibility required.
+ Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods, review physical packaging samples, and manage screen time.
**What you’ll bring to the table:**
+ **A strong online portfolio** demonstrating expertise in brand identity, hierarchy systems, packaging, and print production.
+ **BA in Graphic Design** or equivalent experience.
+ **3+ years of experience** in packaging design, graphic design, or production.
+ **2+ years of experience** in a corporate, agency, or brand-focused design role.
+ **Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite** , particularly Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
+ **Strong knowledge of color systems** (CMYK, RGB, Pantone) and an ability to work across various print color fields.
+ **Understanding of the packaging industry** , including production art files and print processes.
+ **Ability to effectively prioritize tasks** and meet tight deadlines.
+ **Excellent time management** **and problem-solving skills** .
+ **Exceptional verbal and written communication skills** , with the ability to present design ideas and methodology clearly.

**Approximate Salary Range Based on Experience and Location:**

Paula’s Choice Skincare determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external and internal equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget. This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan.
