Senior Paralegal

You will be part of the Aon Law & Compliance Department, which provides a full suite of legal and compliance services to all Aon businesses in Australia and Papua New Guinea. You will work within the Disputes/Litigation team based in Sydney, Australia. What the day will look like We are looking for an experienced Senior Paralegal to join our friendly Legal team in Sydney. Your responsibilities will include: + Managing Aon’s responses to subpoenas and document requests/notices including corresponding with internal clients and external third parties (and Court/Tribunals/Regulators), gathering and reviewing documents, requesting extensions of time (where necessary) and producing documents + Preparing briefs to external lawyers and counsel and engaging external lawyers + Supporting disputes lawyers with recording of matters to global matter management systems, setting financial reserves, arranging, and recording payments of Tax Invoices and settlement payments, preparing reports for various stakeholders + Preparing agendas, documents, and reports for Committee meetings, taking minutes of meetings + Managing Aon quarterly certification processes + Working with the Aon Law team to respond to requests from external and internal auditors + Assist with preparation and organisation of training sessions and conferences including helping prepare documents and various reports + Support Aon Law with maintenance of Agreements Register + Carrying out company searches as requested by Aon Law & Compliance or the business + Perform legal or other research + Prepare various documents, correspondence, articles, and presentations + Provide other ad hoc contracting support as required. Skills and experience that will lead to success + Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a paralegal (or similar support) role, preferably working in the financial services/insurance/legal sector + Advanced Microsoft Office skills + Excellent communication and drafting skills and be a proven strong team contributor + Organised, proactive and self-disciplined with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team + Have excellent attention to detail + Have an ability to work efficiently and accurately, to meet deadlines and follow processes + Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills + Have an ability to process delicate and highly confidential information with discretion.
