Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with solid experience in hydro generator systems and associated cooling equipment. This role focuses on the mechanical engineering aspects of generators, including housing, rotor/stator integration, and thermal management systems, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability in hydro generation stations.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead mechanical design reviews for hydro generators, stators, rotors, and auxiliariesEvaluate generator cooling systems (air, hydrogen, or water-cooled) and ventilation designCoordinate closely with electrical engineers on integration of electromechanical systemsManage specifications and vendor interfaces for mechanical generator systemsSupport installation, alignment, and mechanical performance testingReview OEM documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements and standards

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred)Minimum of 8 years’ experience in hydro or large rotating electrical machineryStrong understanding of generator mechanical design principles and cooling strategiesExperience working with OEMs on generator system procurement and testingFamiliarity with generator codes and standards (e.g. IEC, IEEE, ASME)Proficient in interpreting mechanical stress, vibration, and thermal analysesExcellent coordination skills with electrical and control teams
