Senior Manager - Claims Adovcacy

Our Claims Solutions Knowledge Solutions (KS) team is a dynamic and innovative unit within Marsh Advisory, specialising in complex insurance claims. We bring together a diverse group of experts, including forensic accountants, lawyers, fraud experts, engineers, and insurance professionals, to deliver comprehensive consultancy solutions to clients managing complex insurance claims or proactively managing risk.
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Claims Solutions KS team and expand the current team’s capabilities. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary international team of insurance claims consultants to advise clients on effectively preparing for and recovering from significant losses. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile insurance claims across various industries, focusing on pre-loss project reviews and post-loss delay and quantum analysis in the context of Contract Works (CW) claims and Delay in Start-Up (DSU) claims.
We will count on you to:
To help with the preparation and presentation of major and complex insurance claims as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Assist senior consultants in the assessment of contractors/employers presented losses, mapped against the relevant contracts and insurance policies applicable.
Challenge the veracity of the data and supporting documentation provided by clients in support of their financial losses
Support claims managers in their discussions and negotiations with insurers appointed Quantity Surveyors on construction costs and contracts
Provide general advice to colleagues and clients on products and services in the Construction sector.
Produce client-ready deliverables including proposals, project reports and presentations.
Active participation in the development and growth of the practice.
Develop new and expanded business opportunities.
Follow, promote and facilitate the adoption of the continuous risk improvement methodology.
Comply with and check performance against professional standards and best practices.
What you need to have?
At least 7 years post qualification of relevant construction experience (risk, project management, planning, cost control, contract administration, quantity surveying).
Both employer and contractor side experience desirable
Experience in post-loss construction services (delay and quantum analysis).
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
Project management experience and strong organisational management skills.
Prior insurance claims expertise is highly desirable
