General Summary:

The Sourcing Manager at Qualcomm will work together with internal teams across the organization to develop roadmap supply strategies and execution to those strategies over the entire product life cycle. They are responsible for managing all aspects of the business, engagement strategy, and performance of external contract manufacturers (OSAT, EMS etc) and core technology providers. The individual will assess markets, leverage competition and strike supplier agreements to provide to long-term supply assurance and pricing advantages to Qualcomm.

 

 

Responsibilities Include:

Builds and Maintains strategic bonding relationship w/key suppliers of backend OSATs in Asia (Bump/Probe/DPS)Responsible for capacity assurance, cost reduction by negotiating favorable pricing agreements with suppliers, seeking cost reduction opportunities, and identifying cost-saving initiatives. Develops and communicates contract negotiation strategies for Bump, Probe, DPS end products, pricing, device development and/or supply assurance.Be a key go-to person as a local presence when supply chain issues occur.Assess and identifies potential risks associated with suppliers, such as backend OSATs capacity shortage and geopolitical uncertainties. Responsible for risk mitigation plan to ensure the continuity of the supply chain.Develops new processes, procedures and defines efficient methods for sourcing based on expertise in standard and Qualcomm's sourcing principles, theories, and concepts. Identifies opportunities for efficiency, aligns across teams to develop and implement efficient and effective solutions.Develops sourcing strategies and plans in accordance with supplier engagements or agreements that are aligned with business unit objectives for products or technology. Guides others to provide sourcing options and recommendations to internal customers based on technology, cost, risks, and schedule requirements. Uses strong understanding of competitive landscape and business needs to manage and serve as an escalation point for highly complex sourcing issues.Collaborates internally and externally to plan and execute work based on an understanding of factors such as design changes, cost targets, and changes to scheduled and quantities. Determines next steps and the associated risks.Makes decisions that have global implications. Decisions reflect broad knowledge of functional areas and strategiesRe-scopes high-level team priorities based on discussions with other departments to determine what input is needed from the team, identify resources, and determines how to respond in the most productive manner based on own team's bandwidth.Additional Job Description Min 8 year experience in the semiconductor industry in procurement, engineering or manufacturing roles.Min 3 year direct experience managing semiconductor Contract Manufactures (OSAT’s, EMS, OEM etc)Fundamental understanding of semiconductor packaging, bump, WLP package technology manufacturing process and cost structure.Developed supplier price negotiation strategies and execute to meet objectives.Formulate strategic forecasts and drive capacity commitment with suppliers.Track record of collaboration and delivering results in a cross functional environment is required.Strong analytical and critical thinking skillsExcellent interpersonal skills with a penchant for team work.Program management experience is a plus

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 8+ years of Sourcing or related work experience.
