Senior Legal Specialist
Work Flexibility: Hybrid

Position summary:

Serves as a resource for the area of legal practice or the division, country or business unit.

Under supervision, works with business and functional units on a broad range of matters on legal and compliance issues consistent with laws, regulations, and Stryker policies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Daily Legal Affairs

Act as ancillary BP support to supervisor to support JR Mako, NV , Compliance, MRA, GAMA, ICM Litigation, Government enquiries/investigations

Independently review and draft contracts, including consultant agreements, sales contracts, distribution contracts, service agreements etc. with minimal supervision from Lin

Preparation of materials for legal training for SYK staff.

Litigation, Government enquiries/investigations

Supporting Lin in working with external lawyers to support our efforts in managing litigation and government enquiries/investigations in conjunction with leveraging input from requisite business units  and effectively managing stakeholder expectations

Compliance

Work closely with Compliance and Investigations Team and Global E-discovery team on E-discovery matters (ie document hold).

Training

Prepare training materials and facilitate the training to local employees and third party partners, such as distributors, on appropriate conduct in interactions with healthcare professionals / government officials, and topical legally related matters.

Provide support on other tasks as assigned by Regional Counsel from time to time.

Education & Experience:

Recognized PRC legal degree

Pass China Bar exam and is qualified to practice in China.

At least 3 years post qualification experience in Commercial contracting, and (preferably but not compulsory) with some supporting experience in Commercial litigation and compliance investigation

Strongly prefer someone having worked for an MNC Medtech with experience in contracts review and compliance, and some exposure to supporting compliance investigations; OR someone having worked in a law firm for general corporate matters with experience servicing MNC Medtech

Physical & Mental Requirements:

Detail-oriented and accountable

Pro-active and positive

Strong communications skills, written and spoken, in Chinese and English.

Good interpersonal skills.

Leadership (People Management requirement)

Preferably but not a must with experience in managing interns and/or trainees
