Job Description

AECOM is searching for a Senior Inspector for municipal infrastructure projects.  This is a full-time position based in London, ON. Projects primarily consist of road reconstructions, land development, water distribution, sanitary and storm sewers, and water resources/stormwater management.  The successful candidate will be assigned to a project based on their skillset and area of expertise.  Project assignments can be in and out of the London Region.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Liaison on site with contractor, client, other approving authorities, including addressing resident concernsOversee daily on-site operationsWork closely with the Project Engineer and Project Manager, to ensure construction is in compliance with project specificationsPreparation and maintenance of daily work logs and other project documentation and reporting;Schedule and conduct regular project meetings with the contractor and clientProvide clarification of drawings and direction to the contractor, with remote support from the Project EngineerResponsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.Carry out surveys and measurements for quantity calculationsComplete surveys for the preparation of record drawingsParticipates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.Assist with the preparation of the Project Construction Completion and Final Acceptance Certificate; andTraining of entry-level employees.

 

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

8+ years of relevant experience in a field role on civil, water and wastewater infrastructure projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationDriving license and access to own vehicleSurveying experienceStrong computer skills (Word and Excel)Candidate will be required to follow AECOM Safety Policies and promote them by exampleAbility to read and interpret Civil construction drawings and specificationsAbility to work unsupervised Ability to document inspection and prepare field reports

 Preferred Qualifications:

10+ years of experience with the following:Experience with civil, water and wastewater construction projects Projects of the same type, e.g. road reconstructions, land development, water distribution systems, sewage collection systems, sanitary sewer rehabilitation projects, etc.Construction methods of open cut, vertical trenching and trenchless technologiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAttention to details is essential skillExperience working around mobile heavy equipmentFamiliar with materials testing procedures and construction coordination servicesAbility to read and interpret Civil construction drawings and specificationsAutoCAD and Civil 3D is an asset
