Job Description

The Senior Engineer - Industrialization supports the introduction of new products to the manufacturing facility following the Rockwell Automation Common Product Development (CPD) processes. You will work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure optimum product and process design for manufacturability. You will develop and process associated documentation, estimates manufacturing cost, and initiates execution of prototype and pilot activities. You will work on a variety of issues requiring the evaluation of identifiable factors to determine the best solution. You may lead small special project teams within or external to the Industrialization group. You will report to our Industrialization Manager

Your Responsibilities:Actively serve as the Industrialization representative, in all phases, on NPI/Continuation Engineering project teams.Collaborate with Development team to transition PCBA from development to manufacturing.Identify assembly equipment, tooling, and fixture requirements.  Support the procurement, installation, and validation activities.Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) analyses.Provide input to product manufacturing cost throughout the NPI project.Participate in Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA).Lead prototype and pilot activities in PCB Assembly Operations including setting up machines, programming and troubleshooting assembly issues.Create Documented Work Instructions (DWI) as required. Report progress of PCB assembly builds and gather data to release products to manufacturing per the Production Release Agreement Checklist.Ensure compliance to all production environmental, health, and safety requirements.The Essentials - You Will Have:Bachelor's degreeLegal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.The ability to travel 10% of the time.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree or education.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.Professional work background in electronics or related field.Demonstrated understanding of New Product Introduction process.Good with Project Management, Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA), and Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies.Experience with SAP or another Enterprise Resource Planning system.Proficiency in IPC-A-610, soldering processes, coatings, underfill, manufacturing test, high density designs, through hole and surface mount technologies, board stack-up / pad designs, and design rules.
