Your role
This position is a hands-on oriented engineer responsible for leading concurrent projects of various sizes & types including profit maintenance, VIP, safety, and capacity to meet business objectives. This will also include designing and troubleshooting electrical and/or mechanical systems of industrial automation and be a technical leader supporting the manufacturing process.

What you'll be doing
Develops User Requirement Specifications, Technical Specification and Design Specifications for new automated processing equipment or upgrades to existing equipment such as robotic assembly, vision systems, convey systems, tubing extruders, and injection molding equipmentPerforms process reviews and prepares technical reports detailing equipment operation, best practices and recommended changesPrepares documentation in support of capital projects and manage capital projects. Monitors and reports project costs including capital and cross-functional expenses. Estimates cost affected by design and/or policy changesLeads small project teams as needed to accomplish project objectivesUtilize lean principles to reduce waste in the manufacturing process to ensure focus on value-added activitiesManages multiple projects at the same time while coordinating efforts with management, engineering, and factory personnel to meet completion dates and minimize production down timeSupports testing and validation of manufacturing system from concept thru productionProvides on-going support of continuous improvement efforts to support yearly value improvement opportunitiesProvides support to manufacturing related to safe and efficient daily operationsInterfaces with different functional groups and producing appropriate documentation in support of projectsWorks closely with product development leaders, suppliers and manufacturing to ensure meeting of customer needs and requirementsWhat you'll bring
Bachelor of Science in EngineeringCreative, highly motivated, diligent professional with a positive attitude and passion for engineering and technologyRequires little direction, gives guidance to others, works on technical projects, and has sophisticated knowledge within area of functional responsibilityProficient written and verbal communication skills including Microsoft OfficeLead and assist electrical or controls issues for equipment to determine root cause, then determine solution and procure vital components to prevent reoccurrenceBasic understanding of controls & electrical systems. Ideal candidates to have experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.Experience with troubleshooting mechanical issues on equipment and then applying engineering principles for a permanent solution is desiredGeneral knowledge of CAD design and ability to use either AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor software to create basic conceptual designsAbility to identify and implement process improvements in the infrastructure of existing automated mechanical systemsPhysical / Safety Requirements

The estimated base salary for this position is $88,000 - $121,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonus.
