Job Description

As Senior Power Supply System Engineer, you will be a Principal Engineer part of the group of experts in Railways systems, inside the AECOM EC Rail Systems department, leading, defending and developing Power Systems activities railways systems projects.

Power Systems for Railways encompasses the equipment, facilities and installations for the power supply of the railways and non-railways installations inside a railway line. These systems include the connection to the local power network, the transformation and distribution of the power through a medium voltage system, the power substations in the stations, depots or any other building for the transformation and feeding in low voltage to all the equipment inside the facility, the traction power supply substations and the interlockings/operation of the traction power supply system and the interfaces with other railway systems such as overhead catenary system or SCADA and communications.

Here is what you will do:

Lead the power systems team with responsibility and dependability, with a strategic and critical thinking, considering the needs of the projects and the team necessity with a flexible approach.

The contribution to the definition and development of power systems electrical design documentation during all the phases of a project, from the tender stage to the final execution.

Definition and development of interfaces with relevant parties, as well as attending to coordination and design team meetings as required.

Integration of the design process inside the System Engineering and System Assurance (SESA) process of the project.

Follow-up with the project management team of the project in terms of time dedication, schedule, resources and needs.

Lead bid processes to develop winning proposals and participate in large tender process.

As a power systems expert, perform value engineering project or consultancy studies for exploring opportunities in the railway systems field.

Inside AECOM structure, manage and lead the performance of a dedicated team.

Ensure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of design work in order that successful project implementation and future reliability is achieved.

Be the face/responsible for the power systems in front of the client and defend or justify the design in any project.

Here's what we're looking for:

At least 10 years of global experience.

Experience in design of medium voltage distribution systems.

Experience in traction power substations (DC and High Speed).

Experience in SESA procedures for a railway project.

Project/Team leading.

Software: ETAP, BIM, Autocad.

Strong competency in written English and oral communication is required.
