(Senior) Associate

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Taiwan Career team at Mercer Career Business. This role will be based in Taipei. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

This role is responsible for driving the growth of the Taiwan Career business and serving as the primary point of contact for clients on all clarifications and inquiries. The incumbent will ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of rewards consulting projects, acting as a senior consultant in support of the project director.

Key responsibilities include leading project management for rewards-related engagements, contributing to industry insights and trends, and being accountable for achieving product revenue and project delivery targets.

We will count on you to:

(1) Client Needs Identification & Relationship Management

Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for clients, proactively managing inquiries and anticipating needs.

Engage with clients to understand their key business priorities and people-related risks, and provide tailored recommendations to address their HR and risk management challenges.

Conduct background research on client organizations, including business performance and acquisition history, to support client discussions and deepen contextual understanding.

(2) Project Acquisition & Scoping

Translate client needs into project opportunities by clearly articulating how Mercer solutions can help achieve business goals.

Collaborate with internal teams to scope appropriate project approaches, including data requirements, timelines, and key deliverables.

Serve as the client contact for project initiation, data submission, and clarification of Mercer’s methodologies.

(3) Project Delivery & Analysis

Manage the end-to-end project workflow, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of consulting solutions.

Analyze client data to extract insights, trends, and implications, and translate findings into meaningful narratives and recommendations.

Lead or assist in the preparation of client presentations and reports, using models and benchmarks to support conclusions.

Coordinate internal project teams, lead meetings, track deliverables, and monitor scope changes.

Supervise and review the work of junior consultants, including data validation and quality checks.

What you need to have:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Psychology, or a related field.

Master’s degree (MBA or HR-related field) preferred but not required.

Minimum 6-8 years of experience in HR consulting, internal HR/rewards, or a client-facing professional services role.

Proven experience managing or supporting rewards-related projects (e.g., compensation benchmarking, job evaluation, incentive design, salary structure development).

Experience interacting directly with clients and leading project workstreams is preferred.

Strong knowledge of total rewards concepts, including compensation strategy, benchmarking, job architecture, and pay-for-performance design.

Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; ability to manipulate large datasets and develop client-ready presentation materials.

Solid analytical thinking and ability to derive insights from complex data.

Strong communication and client management skills, including the ability to translate technical content into business language.

Experience with project management tools and methods, including timeline tracking, stakeholder management, and team coordination.

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Comfortable working independently while also collaborating in a team-based environment.

High attention to detail, quality, and client expectations.

Professional fluency in English and Mandarin (spoken and written).

Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings or project delivery (if applicable).
