Full Stack Engineer
Marsh McLennan is seeking a skilled Full Stack Engineer with expertise in web development technologies to join our dynamic team at Marsh.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications that enhance our client services and internal operations. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements and improve user experience. This role’s primary responsibility is developing, enhancing and supporting Icat Online, Icat's customer facing quoting and policy management system.Icat Online is the backbone of Icat's business, generating over 200,000 instant quotes a year for Earthquake and Hurricane Exposed Residential and Commercial Customers across the entire United States.What’s in it for you?

You will work with ICAT and our In-House development team to enhance and maintain the ICAT Online Ecosystem. This application ecosystem is based On Spring, using hibernate for ORM, and a traditional server rendered front end. Development is typically backend work, but can include tasks across the entire development stack, including:Designing, Exposing and consuming APIs, both to internal and 3rd party servicesUI work, including workflow design,Modifying Database schemas and DAO access patternsAssisting with reporting and analytics design and implementationData validation and transformationChanges and enhancements to the devops stack to enhance testing, deployment and reliabilityCode, test, debug software modules, deploy using CICD and meet project plan goalsDevelop reusable software components and basic to moderately complex application code to support business requirements with proficiency and knowledge in customer facing applicationsParticipate in peer code reviewsEscalate problems as appropriateExhibit good troubleshooting and technical skillsWhat you need to have Experience in:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field and 2-5 Years in industry experience OR 5-7 Years Industry experience without a 4 year degree.Full Stack Java developmentSpring application Stack, either Spring Boot or a Traditional Spring Based ApplicationMavenHibernatePythonUnderstanding of basic Linux commands. Should be comfortable with some basic configurations, mounting drives, starting/stopping application services etc.Querying and Modifying ACID compliant databases to support application workloadsExperience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. There are no requirements around using any specific front-end framework.Unit and Integration testing using common Java Testing tools (Junit, Mockito, TestNG etc)Experience working with a web UI. This includes knowledge of in browser javascript, css and htmlTroubleshooting and debugging medium to large application stacks, and independent troubleshooting skills.What makes you stand out?
