Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Advisor - Safety, Health & Environment to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and monitoring Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) requirements, ensuring compliance with local legislative and regulatory obligations, as well as project and company standards.

Serve as the primary point of contact for all SH&E-related matters in the field and on projectsIdentify and ensure compliance with company, project, and legislative SH&E requirementsConduct daily inspections of contractor activities to verify adherence to SH&E policies, plans, and obligationsPerform visual inspections, report issues, and submit observation findings through the project reporting systemFollow up on close-outs within established timeframes to ensure timely resolution of issuesApply fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures across a wide range of environmental, health, and safety disciplinesAssist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety and health programs, systems, and proceduresMonitor and mitigate hazards and health risks present in the work environmentInvestigate accidents, injuries, and complaints related to workplace hazardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibilityStay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in SH&E management

QualificationsMinimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant SH&E fieldBachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related fieldNEBOSH Diploma or equivalent certification (required for candidates with Engineering or related degrees)In-depth knowledge of SH&E legislative and regulatory obligations, particularly those applicable in the UAEDemonstrated ability to assess and monitor compliance requirementsExtensive experience in conducting inspections, reporting issues, and following up on corrective actionsStrong familiarity with various environmental, health, and safety disciplinesProven track record in developing and implementing effective safety and health programsExcellent risk assessment and mitigation skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesOutstanding communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in using relevant software and tools for SH&E management and reportingAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentGoal-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement in SH&E practicesDecisiveness in addressing safety concerns and implementing corrective measuresHighly organized with strong attention to detail
