Position Summary / Career Interest:The Radiology Business Operations Manager provides leadership in the operational and financial analysis and reporting for the assigned department(s). This position manages data collection, assists leadership in strategy, financial performance, contracting, and reimbursement analysis for the department. This position supports the hospital, UKP Radiology, and the University.

This position interacts with stakeholders in the Radiology throughout the Health System. Interfaces with Finance, Quality, Regulatory, Risk Management, Legal, Business Analytics, Medical Directors and others.

Responsibilities and Essential Job FunctionsLeads financial analysis and assists leadership with development of strategy, policy and processes, and financial
decisions in support of the physician practice and Health System goalsEstablishes process payment flows for new procedures and/or new business contracts that are not processes within
system applications.Monitors business unit productivity and prepares reports and recommendations for leadership, analyzing for service,
quality, growth and cost expectationOversees the development and management of the operational budget preparation and monitors and analyzes
expenditures of departmental funds.Prepares and submits Faculty quarterly incentive and monthly payroll, resident/fellow one time payments, and costing
allocations for faculty/university employeesAnalyzes current and new contracts to ensure fiscal responsibility, identify opportunities for cost savings, secure
discounts, and obtain the best rates for the organization. Ensure the contracts align with the organization’s budgetary
constraints and financial goalsCreates and manages financial reports, data compilation and leads reviews and analysis of the data to determine
financial and / or operational performance of the department for both the hospital and the physician practiceReviews and analyzes variances; communicates with department leadership to drive to root cause and reports out.Participates in LEAN process improvement activities.Acts as a resource for Radiology database management and reporting for both the hospital and the physician practice.Participates in the development and management of the Radiology Department budget activities for the hospital, UKP
and SoM.Manage operational and financial analysis and reporting of radiology department activities for the assigned hospital and
UKP cost center(s).Responsible for financial analysis and projections for high priority initiatives for the Radiology department and physician practice.Oversight of labor management and position control to ensure the radiology department and the physician practice is
staffed effectively and properly.Assists with revenue cycle management for the department.In collaboration with the regional and local leadership, participates in the short-term and long-range plans for the
department. Is accountable for the development of systems that support and achieve the short-term and long range
departmental plans and objectives. Undertake special projects and assignments, as directed by the department Chair.;
Mentors and oversees staff and projects to scheduled completion.Assist department Chair in the planning, and execution of academic educational, research conferences and program
initiativesAssists with intradepartmental and leadership communications. Communicates pertinent information, statistics, and
issues and plans so that there is an excellent understanding of the department’s activities, issues and opportunities.Represents the department on various institutional standing and ad hoc committees and task forcesMaintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field thru active pursuit of continuing educationMaintain strictest of confidentiality and highest level of professionalism; Maintains good rapport and cooperative
relationships. Approaches conflict in a constructive manner. Helps to identify problems, offer solutions, and participate
in their solution; demonstrates the professional behaviors of hospitality and caring, ownership and responsiveness,
inclusiveness, commitment to excellence, and commitment to open communication. Assumes responsibility for

Required Education and ExperienceBachelors Degree Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business, Information Technology or Finance and 2 years of
experience in business operations planning, pro forma
development and contracts ORMaster's Degree in Business, Health Administration, Finance.Proven progressive experience in compiling and analyzing statistical data relating to efficiencies, budgets and revenue cycle management, preferably within Radiology.
Preferred Education and ExperienceExperience in an Academic Radiology Department or understanding of processes preferred.Data Analyst experience in a medical setting with experience in an academic medical setting preferred.
Knowledge RequirementsKnowledge of hospital and professional billing.
