Job DescriptionThis role is on-site in Sanford, NC.
Execution of lab or pilot-scale monoclonal antibody (mAbs) purifications using Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), Normal Flow Filtration (NFF), and/or column chromatography, as needed.Process development and characterization, scale-up and tech transfer to commercial manufacturingProcess simulation and modeling, process troubleshooting, qualification of alternate raw materials and components, new technology development, etc. as needed to support experiment execution.Preparation of equipment, solutions, consumable materials, etc. as needed to support experiment executionUtilize technical knowledge to identify, troubleshoot, and assist with resolution of process problemsDocumenting experiment execution using an electronic lab notebook, batch record, and/or protocolsOrganizing technical data and providing oral presentations or technical reports to communicate results, as requiredPrioritize and organize work to meet project deadlines and support team goals.Work on second shift may be required periodicallyAbility to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, high energy, and a positive attitudeAbility to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policiesCommunicate effectively with co-workers and client staff membersQualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or other related science degree concentration with a minimum of 4 years of experience working in a laboratory environmentExcellent documentation skillsStrong attention to detailValid driver’s license and personal transportationAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipThe Ideal Candidate would Possess:
Prior industry purification experience, preferably with monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) preferredExperience in any of the following purification techniques: Filtration techniques such as Normal Flow Filtration, Ultrafiltration Diafiltration, Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), vacuum filtration, and Sterile Filtration, experience with Column Chromatography such as Ion Exchange (IEX), Hydrophobic Interaction (HIC) columns, column packing, or using AKTA systems or UNICORN software to analyze dataStrong computer, scientific, and organizational skillsExcellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detailAdditional InformationPosition is full-time, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
