Your Role
Gensler is seeking a professional, motivated, and highly-collaborative individual to join our team as a Public Relations Specialist, supporting our Dallas office. The ideal candidate has a passion for design and views PR as a people-centered activity. They will work alongside our Regional PR Director, Public Relations Manager and broader team to provide PR admin and related activities representing Gensler’s brand, reputation, and thought leadership in our markets. The PR Specialist will sit in the Dallas office but have dedicated hours to work on PR-related tasks for the Nashville office.
What You Will Do
Media Relations & PR Administration
Assist in drafting external communication materials including press releases, project fact sheets, key messages, and website content.
Track media placements and speaking engagements.
Maintain media lists; research and add new reporter contacts as needed.
Prepare briefing sheets for media interviews.
Compile weekly media placements, speaking opportunities, events, and award wins for This Week at Gensler and South Central News
Assist PR Manager with maintaining editorial opportunities.
Develop presentations for speaking engagements.
Additional PR admin tasks as needed.
Social Media
Maintain social media presence for the Dallas and Nashville Instagram accounts
Collaborate with other PR specialists and videography team to develop content
Work with local teams to create market-specific campaigns and videos.
Provide graphics/layout support for special post series (InDesign or Canva experience required)
Track views, engagement, and performance of content (Sprout Social or other social media tracking platform experience required)
Awards
Work with PR Manager to identify projects.
Collaborate with Regional Awards Specialist to coordinate information gathering and design team reviews for submissions.
Assistance in writing and developing nomination submissions.
Photography
Provide administrative support to project teams for pre-shoot planning and coordination
Attend and staff photoshoots, as needed
Your Qualifications
4 - 6 years of experience in a variety of public relations, media, or communications roles, either agency based or in-house. Experience in business-to-business is preferred over business-to-consumer.
Strong writing, editing, grammar and interpersonal skills
Ability to craft, prepare, and execute writing assignments (project narratives, blog/social media posts, other communications, as needed) under deadlines
Ability to work cohesively as a member of a broader communications team and be adaptable in dynamic settings
Software Proficiencies: Microsoft Office, InDesign, Cision, Sprout Social, Photoshop, Adobe Premier
