Job Description

AECOM is seeking a detail oriented and organized Project Controller III to be based in Kansas City, MO; Chicago, IL; or Los Angeles, CA.

This position is a blend of Project Controls (PC) and Document Controls (DC) supporting architectural project managers on accounting and financial controls, and assisting architectural project teams with document control during design and construction of sports and public assembly projects. Familiarity with financial systems software is required. Strong organization and document control skills including tracking, logging and managing large sets of documents is desired.

Project Controls

Our PC will be educated on AECOMs standard financial and project management processes and applications.  With time, our PC will be expected to have a thorough knowledge of said processes. Similarly, our PC will be educated on AECOM financial and project management KPIs, such as earned value, cost and schedule performance indices, estimate to and at completion, and project end dates.  Ultimately our PC will provide updates and dashboards reporting on KPIs. Ability to effectively communicate with differing groups, placing issues into common terms with possible means of communicating being verbal, written, and graphically. Strong knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft office suite of applications, in particular excel with ability to auto-populate information, set up and manage pivot tables, and produce progress dashboards. Undertake initial analysis of manpower costs and revenue against plan. Works closely with accounting on the generation of invoices; compliance with company standards, establishment of invoicing schedules, and initial review of invoices for compliance.  Our PCs will work with the project PM to explain any unique aspects of a given invoice prior to final approval by PM for issuance. Production of monthly project dashboards, exporting and organizing information from AECOM’s project management application, for use during monthly project review meetings. Assist PM in the implementation of project corrective actions. Monitors and controls project data quality including such items as project end dates, estimates to complete, completion of monthly project reviews, and the like. Additional responsibilities may include account receivables support, procurement support, or the support of initiatives enacted by local or regional leadership.

Document Controls

Support architectural project teams and staff on general documentation organizing and management, utilizing basic office software suites and/or pre-configured online project management tools; knowledge of project management software is beneficial but not required.Perform general administrative functions such as document management, logging and filing of revised document sets.Coordinate daily retrieval of information by AECOM staff and external project team members.Generate reports based on clearly described information needs and requests.Perform general duties that may be routine and repetitive.Assist with a variety of administrative records requirements, including internal and external documentation requirements for a variety of tasks including general accounting, design documentation, and construction contract administration.Receives guidance on all aspects of document controls assignments.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS +4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

6+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Advanced Microsoft Excel skillsStrong organization and document control skills including tracking, logging and managing large sets of documents is desired.Effective communication skills and ability to work with teamsPrevious experience with financial and bookkeeping procedures
