Job DescriptionAECOM is actively seeking a talented Project Architect for immediate employment in our Virginia Beach office. This position will work on a variety of interesting projects mostly in the Federal sector.
Primary job function include but are not limited to the following:
Performing basic architectural/engineering calculationsPreparing specifications, reports and related data tablesMaintaining liaison with design and drafting groupsPreparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as requiredUnder the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgetsMay coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned projectMay assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnelMay review and approve conceptual designsMay assist in the development of new architectural methods and techniquesQualificationsMinimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture plus four (4) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationAn Architecture license is required for this position, (preferably in VA with NCARB)Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is requiredPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and six (6) years of relevant experienceProficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and PowerPointExperience in public safety-related projects such as police facilities, emergency operation centers, emergency communication centers, and training facilities.Certification as a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBCExperience with SketchUp Pro, Adobe Creative Suites, or other related graphic softwareAbility to work in a fast-paced work environmentDiverse knowledge of architectural principles and practicesStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and interpersonal skills Experience in DoD and Federal Government related projects, UFCs, and standards,Additional InformationRelocation is not available for this positionSponsorship is not available for this positionAbout AECOM
