The purpose of the Operations Trust Team is to manage privacy for the Operations (Ops) organization. Our focus is to ensure individuals are never surprised by what data we collect, process, and share and that we delight regulators with the quality, transparency, and accuracy of our privacy documentation. Everything we do is based on this focus. This leader acts as a privacy subject matter expert and works with business, legal, and technology stakeholders to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and transparency of privacy documentation.
Key job responsibilities
Identify, draft, and maintain Records of Processing (RoPs/ROPAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
Assist with managing the privacy documentation program at scale
Automating and operationalizing privacy processes
Analyzing and developing metrics to measure and improve the documentation team program
Apply global privacy regulatory and operational expertise to Ops to embed a consistent customer experience
Work with internal stakeholders across Ops and Legal to ensure privacy is considered in projects and decisions
Maintain a strong understanding of privacy regulatory and industry developments
Perform operational deep dives on business processes and systems and identify privacy risks and mitigating measures
Prepare supporting internal documentation such as executive reports, standard operating procedures, and FAQs
Manage several projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency
Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
3+ years in privacy
Experience developing and maintaining privacy documentation and processes, including RoPs/ROPAs, DPIAs, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs), and/or data mapping
Former role in privacy with knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements and standards, and experience with privacy program management
1+ years leading projects with tight deadlines that involve the use of automated and manual systems and supporting internal customers across the globe
Proven knowledge of global privacy regulations and pending legislation (GDPR, CPRA, DMA, AI Act, LGPD, PIPL, etc.) and applying them in a complex technology environment
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (Juris Doctor) preferred
Holds one or more privacy certifications (CIPP/US, CIPP/E, AIGP, CIPM, etc.)
Ability to work on a diverse team or with a diverse range of coworkers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience communicating complex issues and concepts verbally and in writing to a wide range of audiences, from technical developers to non-technical executives
Has worked successfully in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
Experienced and comfortable using data and metrics to drive outcomes
Ability to work with little to no supervision

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $99,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $164,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
