Job Description

The Principal Transport Planner delivers discipline involvement in projects and ensures effective delivery input of others. The Senior Transport Planner leads and guides team members in transport planning requirements, including Traffic Impact Studies, freight and logistics, ITS, smart cities, road safety and transport modelling. Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete the assignments.

 

Technical Excellence:

Coordinate small - mid-size project teams of discipline-led Planners.Effectively leads and contributes to transport planning and traffic engineering project tasks for various transport studies.Prepares project deliverables that are reviewed by senior team members.Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment as an experienced Planner.Provides specialized technical input into studies and design work for the expertise and identifies discrepancies in results.Follows existing or develops design procedures to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective work by self and others.Participates in and creates an interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.Prepares technical specifications. Performs work under the agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.Technically coordinates with authorities for approvals.Solves problems encountered using knowledge, innovation and modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous works.Contributes to the area of expertise, providing proposed improvements to existing processes and delivers solutions where precedent may not exist.Performs technical quality reviews of design calculations, drawings, including documentation and report writing in project record by adhering to quality, occupational health and safety and corporate standards.Maintains and develops the highest level of technical skills and abilities.Build and maintain client relationships. Attends client meetings as technical support to gather information and discuss project requirements, explain/ defend work, etc.Participates in the development and preparation of bids and proposals.Present solutions to clients in a professional and technically competent manner.  

 

Years of Relevant Experience

8+ years of experience.

   

 

QualificationsBachelor’s degree Level Qualification or higher in a related field (mandatory), master’s degree (preferred). Transport Planning Professional (TPP) qualification preferred.Chartership/certification/license from a recognized professional body (e.g. P.E., P.Eng., C.Eng., CIHT, CILT) strongly preferred.Relevant registration required in Qatar, Bahrain and UAE.
