Embark on a journey of innovation with BAE Systems' Platform Engineering group, where we seek a Network Engineer to deploy, monitor, and maintain core / spine, aggregation / leaf, firewall, and multi-site routing. In this role, you work to implementing robust, repeatable, standardized, and advanced technological solutions. As a Network Engineer, you will implement the latest in Software Defined Networking (SDN) via automation to support growing IT and Data Center service needs. You will be working on addressing existing problems with an eye to future technological needs. Network Engineers work within the SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) group and work in a cross-capability team including Core Services, DevOps, Security, and IT Operations to achieve your project objectives. Key Responsibilities: + Deliver Excellence: Work in a team of Network Engineers and SREs to ensure seamless, continuous service delivery. + Innovate and Implement: From concept to execution, bring service methodologies to life. + Be the Problem Solver: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to network optimization and incident response. + Measurement and Monitoring: Instrument and measure key performance indicators of the production environment to enable continuous improvement. + Support the Infrastructure: Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale network infrastructures. + Communicate and Collaborate: Coordinate with cross-team members to complete tasks. + Experience: Multiple years experience Juniper Networks or Cisco networking equipment, operating system functions, and security hardening + Physical: Ability to move, rack, stack and install physical equipment by lifting up to 50 lbs. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site. Apply now and propel your career into a future. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Clearance: Active DOD Secret clearance (investigation within 5 years) + Experience: 5 years in the realm of Network Engineering + Enthusiasm: A desire to deliver excellence and a focus on meeting user needs + Networking Protocols: Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, SMTP, NFS, DHCP, DNS, FTP, Telnet and SSH + Technological: Expertise in Layer 2/3 networking, including VLANs, STP, VxLAN, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP. + Architecture: Fundamental understanding of the OSI model + Infrastructure Automation: An understanding of Software Defined Networking (SDN) and service lifecycle management + Security: Experience in applying DISA STIGs and resolving security vulnerabilities + Problem Solving: Proactive approach to identifying and resolving performance issues + Compliance: Security or equivalent or ability to obtain a Security within 90 days **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance + Bachelor of Science degree from accredited University + Certifications in Juniper, Palo Alto Networks or Cisco technologies + Knowledge, skill sets or experience using protocol analyzers/sniffers (e.g., Wireshark) + Knowledge of fabric networking solutions, including VxLAN, EVPN, and other SDN approaches used in modern campus environments + Experience working with multi-vendor environments, including Juniper, Palo Alto, F5, Cisco and other networking components and interoperability + Usage of network automation with Ansible or similar platforms + Experience working in cross-functional teams + Effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and drawing tools **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
