How you will make an impact:

This unique R&D technical lead position focuses on the design, development, testing, and implementation of accessories spanning multiple generations in the transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement space. This position will report into the Director of R&D.

Additional roles/responsibilities include:

Lead in the improvement, design, and optimization of complex experiments and tests, analyzing results, providing recommendations, and developing reports based on engineering principles.

Proactively identify issues, achieve resolution, and resolve problems of significant complexity on designing parts, components, and subsystems

Generate work instructions, test methods, engineering models and drawings/prototypes, etc. to establish/characterize product and/or process specifications.

Create/update complex design control documents including requirement specifications and risk documents with robust knowledge on design control requirements.

Train, coach, and guide lower-level employees on more complex procedures.

What you'll need (Required):

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Scientific field with a minimum of 6 years of experience, including either industry or industry/education -OR- Master's Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Scientific field with a minimum of 5 years of experience, including either industry or industry/education -OR- Ph.D. or equivalent in in Engineering or Scientific field with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including either industry or industry/education

What else we look for (Preferred):

Proficiency in using SolidWorks (design for machinability, design for moldability, catheter assembly management)

Proficiency in the usage of Minitab to communicate test results and recommendations to complex problems.

Excellent documentation and communication skills

Excellent interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and cross functional relationship management skills that provide honest and transparent feedback.

Ability to work well independently (self-driver and self-starter) as well as operate as a collaborative member of a team is a must.

Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude to work through complex technical issues and drive solutions to completion, with the tenacity and perseverance to work through failure.

Proficiency in catheter design (extrusion, braiding, coiling, reflow)

Proficiency in using DFM principles for injection molded components (thermoplastics and liquid silicone)

Exposure to machining (mill, lathe, CNC, EDM)

Six Sigma Black Belt certification

For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $118,000 to $167,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).  Applications will be accepted while this position is posted on our Careers website.
