The Role
Provide knowledge, insight, and direction for broking activities to ensure that clients’ expectations are regularly met. This role incorporates a wide level of expertise, assuming the broker is capable of handling accounts independently. The size and complexity of the account can vary.
• Obtain necessary underwriting information, assist in responding to technical queries, and prepare quotes and summaries for clients.
• Review and evaluate information and analytics to assess and evaluate client risks to support the placement of client risks in the market.
• Orchestrate new business placement, renewals, and alterations of existing coverage.
• Perform needs and gap analysis to make recommendations regarding program improvements.
• Bind carrier quotes and review binders and coverage confirmations.
• Process and file documents on the internal management information systems (MIS).
• Ensure efficient follow-up with clients-prospects and insurers as needed.
• Build strong relationships with clients and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams for the overall management of the assigned portfolio.
• Adhere to the company’s compliance policies and procedures.
• Conduct program peer reviews.
The Requirements
• Degree in Management / Economics / Finance or related field acceptable to the Company, or professional insurance qualifications (e.g., CII) or progress towards such qualifications.
• Knowledge of insurance underwriting practices and the ability to provide appropriate product coverage options. Industry experience in real estate, hospitality, and leisure industry would be a plus.
• Strong group presentation skills (written and verbal); ability to drive complex/technical conversations.
• Relationship management: customer focus, collaboration, interpersonal skills, and conflict management; demonstrates shared ownership of resolution of conflicts.
• Receptive to feedback; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; high adaptability.
• A keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with underwriting software or management systems.
