AbbVie Process Chemistry is seeking a Peptide Chemist, Senior Scientist I to conduct process research and development of small molecules, including Peptides, from pre-clinical through early clinical phases. Key Responsibilities: · The candidate will conduct process development and characterization for peptides and other modalities as a member of chemistry teams. · Develop and characterize peptide (or other modalities) processes in the laboratory and translate them to scalable processes. · Apply new methods and technologies to meet project goals. · Provide significant contributions to technical memos and reports. · The position involves multi-disciplinary interactions with organic chemists, analytical chemists, engineers, drug product development, and program management. · The candidate will maintain and apply state-of-the-art chemical knowledge to solving challenging problems. · The candidate will be responsible for developing chemical processes, understanding overall synthetic strategy, and collaborating to develop timely solutions in a matrixed team setting. Qualifications · Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree in Organic Chemistry with typically 10+ (BS), 8+ (MS) or 0+ (PhD) years of experience. Candidates with less experience may be considered for other opportunities. · Experience in modern synthetic peptide chemistry. · Proven scientific creativity; strong interpersonal and communication skills for facilitating collaborations on cross-functional process development teams. · The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of modern synthetic peptide chemistry, mechanistic reasoning, analytical techniques, and experimental design.
