The Digital Strategy Lead (all genders) is a multidisciplinary expert who works with parenteral PDS&T (pPDST) and associated CMC functions in PDS&T and R&D. This role involves collaborating with scientists and leaders to identify and implement Digital Transformation use cases, focusing on automating scientific workflows and developing industry-leading knowledge management and predictive modelling capabilities. The Digital Strategy Lead works closely with pPDST colleagues and Information Research to drive necessary updates to the pPDST data and systems architecture in line with use cases and the artificial intelligence strategy. Additionally, this role requires working in collaboration with PDS&T BTS as well as Development Sciences Digital Transformation (DSDT) teams to align and optimize overarching data and systems strategies, ensuring connectivity and usability of CMC data for automated IND/BLA authoring.
Job Description
Guides a matrixed team of pPDST scientists in developing Digital Transformation use cases, designing and implementing solutions to address significant scientific or business challenges through data automation, integration, visualization, and analysis of large and complex datasetsDefines principles and working models for use cases within pPDST and provides training to teams on associated deliverablesFacilitates within use case teams to effectively resolve key project hurdles and assumptions by leveraging available information and technical expertise across diverse technologiesDrives consensus on scientific and data architecture impacted by use cases, ensuring that teams make meaningful impact regarding digitizing and automating pPDST workflows as well as defining consistent, sustainable data and systemsPartners with pPDST scientists and leaders, BTS, DSDT, and business system owners to implement Digital Transformation use cases and functional strategic priorities that enhance data architecture and key data systems that make scientific data broadly available, reusable, and machine readableCollaborates with PDST scientists and leaders outside pPDST to drive cross-functional implementation of Digital Transformation use cases in addition to communicating the Digital Transformation vision effectively, presenting complex data and digital workflow concepts to technical and non-technical audiences to ensure understanding, buy-in, and full utilization by intended user groups, while articulating benefits, risks, and return on investmentIdentifies emerging scientific and technological trends from various internal and external sources, assesses their relevance and integrates applicable trends into Digital Transformation plans and strategiesCollaborates with plant and lab of the future leaders to define and execute a Digital Roadmap for collaboration between PDST and commercial sites
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science/Informatics or related field with 12+ years of related work experience; Master's degree in Science/Informatics or equivalent with 10+ years of related work experience; PhD in Science/Informatics or related field with typically 4+ years of related work experienceExtensive experience with scientific workflows and associated key data is requiredSignificant experience in at least one scientific discipline within CMC (such as Analytical- or Drug Product Development) and a strong background in IT and data analytics, familiarity with artificial intelligence concepts and data warehousing is preferredProven capability to lead diverse teams with varying functional and IT systems experience as well as maintaining a strong working relationship with both internal and external collaboratorsDemonstrated ability to solve critical business and scientific challenges as well as the ability to influence others in scientific and technological areasExcellent oral and written communication skills in both German and English
