Job Title: Oral Care Whitening Platform Leader

JOB PURPOSE
The Oral Care category aims to provide healthy mouths and beautiful smiles to 1 billion consumers daily. Unilever leads the market in key regions, offering significant growth potential through innovative brands with superior technology and consumer benefits.
The Whitening Consumer Benefits Platform Leader will be responsible for developing the use of whitening technologies and appearance measurements for Oral Care products. The ideal candidate will have a scientific background relevant to oral care and whitening/appearance with a record of delivering of technologies, insights and measurements to a FMCG business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the longer-term whitening platform to meet future business, consumer requirements.Manage long-term technology innovation projects.Collaborate with cross-functional R&D teams to identify and implement innovative whitening measurements and insights for funnel innovation projects.Establish and sustain relationships with externals, including academic groups and suppliers pertinent to whitening and appearance measurement.Develop personal scientific ability in areas pertinent to oral care whitening, such as tribology, appearance, and measurement.Monitor and analyse the academic and competitive landscape.Prepare and present project updates, reports, and recommendations to stakeholders.Maintain a pipeline of competitive intellectual property.ALL ABOUT YOU
PhD in Chemistry or a related science discipline. Expertise in application of hard tissue science, appearance measurement and/or tribology is strongly preferred.Demonstrated experience in leading innovation projects with a medium to long-term horizon within the Personal Care, Beauty, Wellbeing sector, or a comparable future-oriented technology team.Ability to collaborate with academic and supplier partners to use technologies, develop measurements, and ensure delivery.Able to communicate science and technology concepts to R&D and marketing teams.Effective communication and people skills for collaborating within cross-functional teams.Project management skills focusing on accountability, risk management and timely delivery.Knowledge of IP management.Experience in application of experimental design, statistics and modelling tools to guide innovation direction and decision making.Experience or knowledge of the principles of clinical trial design preferred.Passion for high performance, generates intensity and focus to motivate individuals and teams. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for delivery and results.Business Acumen: creates opportunities, engaging different partners to deliver their programme.Personal mastery: sets ambitious standards for themselves and others they collaborate with. Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money.In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
