The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to lead our high-impact manufacturing operations, supporting the production of biological reagents and assay components used in diagnostic testing worldwide. With a scope of over $40MM SCOP, this role is critical to ensuring operational excellence, quality, and innovation.
What You’ll Work On
• Lead and manage a team of 3+ supervisors and 40+ technicians.
• Oversee the production of biologics and organic components to support over 3 billion diagnostic tests annually.
• Drive quality system effectiveness, ensuring compliance with cGMP and validation standards.
• Recruit, train, and retain a highly specialized technical workforce.
• Manage departmental budgets totaling nearly $20MM and contribute to financial planning and cost control.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives in process improvement, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
• Oversee complex manufacturing processes including:
o Recombinant protein fermentation and purification
o Antibody production (monoclonal and polyclonal)
o Organic synthesis
• Manage operations across multiple specialized facilities, including:
o CBER-licensed fermentation and monoclonal antibody production
o Level 3 biocontainment labs
• Collaborate with R&D and Technical Services to transfer new technologies and troubleshoot production challenges.
• Lead the startup and scale-up of major capital projects and new manufacturing capabilities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related technical field is required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Manufacturing or equivalent Technical/Quality experience within a regulated environment.
At least 5 years of leadership experience.
Strong understanding of technical manufacturing processes, validation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Experience with standard cost development and financial operations desirable.

The base pay for this position is $127,300.00 – $254,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
