As a Software Engineering - Developer at Kyndryl, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge software solutions. Using design documentation and functional programming specifications, you will be responsible for implementing identified components. You will ensure that implemented components are appropriately documented, unit-tested, and ready for integration into the final product. Database Migration Engineer with a deep understanding of Azure Database services to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in successfully executing large-scale migration projects involving homogeneous & heterogeneous database platforms. As a Database Migration Engineer, will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data solutions on the Azure Cloud platform.
Your Responsibilities
Administer, monitor, and optimize MS SQL / NoSQL database platforms (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Couchbase, etc.).
Lead and execute migration efforts from AWS-hosted and/or On-Prem NoSQL databases to Azure-native equivalents (e.g., Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Table Storage, or relevant Azure database services).
Design and implement database solutions that align with business requirements, high availability, and disaster recovery standards.
Perform data modeling, capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Ensure database systems comply with enterprise security, compliance, and governance policies.
Collaborate with cloud architects, application developers, and infrastructure teams to define and execute migration roadmaps.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams, procedures, and operational support materials.
Automate routine database operations using scripts and tools to improve efficiency and reliability.
Provide support for production, development, and testing environments.

Required Technical and Professional Experience
6+ years of experience as a NoSQL DBA in enterprise environments.
Hands-on experience with at least two of the following NoSQL technologies: MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Couchbase, Redis, or similar.
Proven experience in cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Microsoft Azure.
Solid understanding of Azure data services (Cosmos DB, Table Storage, Azure Database for MongoDB).
Strong background in data migration strategies, tools, and methodologies.
Preferred to be proficient in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation and task orchestration.
Experience with backup/recovery, replication, sharding, and high-availability setups.
Working knowledge of data security and compliance requirements (e.g. GDPR, HIPAA).
Experience in performance tuning and optimization of NoSQL databases, including query optimization, indexing, and configuration tuning.
Understanding of security best practices and experience implementing security measures in NoSQL databases.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and optimize performance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality results within specified timeline
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Experience with hybrid cloud setups (AWS/on-prem to Azure transitions).
Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Database Migration Service (DMS), or similar tools.
Certifications in Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate) or AWS.
Azure DevOps(ADO) Services for agile planning, continuous integration, continuous delivery and monitoring of applications
