As a Medical Advisor , you will be responsible for working with the company’s state breakthrough innovations in oncology in Belgium. This is an office-based, field directed role. The Medical Advisor Oncology has strong scientific knowledge of oncology and demonstrates excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
You will engage in non-promotional scientific exchange with health care professionals to provide accurate, relevant and balanced data when needed ;
You will follow-up ongoing projects and studies that are aligned with the country medical affairs plan. The projects that you will be working on will focus on medical education and programs that provide balanced data to the medical community at large with the patient as the ultimate beneficiary ;
You will need to provide strategic input to the internal cross functional teams based on medical knowledge and insights from scientific exchange.
In this role you will report into the Therapeutic Area Lead Oncology and will join a team with other Medical Advisors.
Primary responsibilities
Non-promotional scientific exchange with health care professionals to provide accurate, relevant and balanced data when needed;
Collect, collate and analyze insights from a variety of stakeholders to identify unmet needs and data gaps and share these insights with your cross functional team;
Understand positioning of our oncology products in the current landscape and provide medical strategic input to commercial, access, clinical and regulatory stakeholders accordingly;
Follow-up of investigator initiated studies & local data-generating studies;
Connect with the regional medical team to share the Belgian perspective, discuss on potential data gaps or local needs;
Review of market access dossiers for scientific accuracy;
Collaborating with local clinical trial operations and investigators to follow-up ongoing studies and identify opportunities to implement new phase 2 and 3 studies in the country;
Your profile
MD, PharmD or PhD Life Sciences;
Preferably oncology experience or a passion for this therapeutic area;
Medical Affairs and/or Clinical Development experience;
Sound scientific and clinical judgment, understanding of clinical trial methods and interpretation of clinical data;
Strong customer facing, listening, and probing skills;
Outstanding communication skills with the ability to bring confident and engaging presentations;
Leadership skills: A proactive "can do" attitude and hands-on mentality; eager to continue to learn more;
Able to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and working under pressure;
Strong analytical skills, meticulous and eye for detail;
Excellent project and budget management skills;
Ability to function within a diverse team environment, across different departments and corporate cultures;
Compliance and quality mindset; compliant with business Integrity and Ethics standards;
Strong oral and written communication skills in English; French and/or Dutch.
