Within the European Finance Shared Service Center (EFSSC) and reporting to the Senior Manager Intercompany, the mission of the Manager Intercompany is to ensure the accuracy, reliability and integrity of the company’s books and records and financial reports. Within this mission is the responsibility is to maintain an effective system of internal controls and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, Stryker policies and procedures and any applicable laws and regulations. The incumbent must also support the needs of the business on a need by basis, for example by providing analysis and insight into financial trends, risks and opportunities.
What you will do
Leads accounting and financial reporting for assigned entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance with corporate policies, and readiness for internal/external audits.
Oversees month-end and year-end closing activities, guiding the team to complete tasks on schedule and ensuring the reliability of financial reports.
Conducts regular balance sheet reviews, identifies and corrects material misstatements, and implements necessary corrective actions.
Manages internal controls and compliance, maintaining SOX 404 readiness and adherence to anti-corruption laws, segregation of duties, and company policies.
Supervises and develops accounting staff, including performance management, goal setting, coaching, and ensuring access to training.
Acts as escalation point and liaison for accounting issues and inquiries from local business partners and auditors.
Supports process improvement initiatives, including audit recommendations, standardization, and simplification efforts.
Contributes to strategic resource planning and documentation, ensuring operational efficiency and promoting ongoing professional development.
What you need
Required:
Minimum managerial experience up to 2 years in a supervisory role in a multinational (preferably US based) or an auditing company (one of the big four)
Degree in Business and Administration
Professional certification in accounting (CPA or equivalent)
Fluent in English
Familiar with Sarbanes Oxley Act and/or other internal control concepts
Preferred:
Knowledge of US GAAP
Familiar with Oracle, Hyperion and SAP
Other language
Travel Percentage: 10%
