Manager- Appian Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for experienced Appian Developers who can break down and solve complex problems with a strong motivation to get things done and deliver high-quality Appian implementations.

What will you do in this role

Design, develop, modify, integrate, test, deploy and support enterprise-level Appian applicationsTranslate business process software requirement specifications into prototypes and solutionsSupport data gathering and analysis to facilitate risk mitigation and issue resolutionMay have the role of Team Lead in a development squadDeliver projects using Agile development methodologyProperly executes Code ReviewsAct as an escalation point for junior developersMonitors project and ensures that all project stories and tasks stay on track to meet commitments. Properly identifies any risks or blockers and properly documents and communicates them in order to prevent delays or unblock the development team.Responsible for raising any reprioritization of backlog, including any impact that reprioritization will have on the initial scope in the Release PlanResponsible for pushing all releases across environmentsAppropriately escalates when necessary while clearly communicating impact and riskStrong collaboration, organization skills in cross-functional teams; ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences; work closely with scientists, peers, and business leaders in different geographical locations to define and deliver complex features.

What should you have

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science/engineering or equivalent technical fie.Minimum of Five (3) years’ experience Appian software developmentExperience monitoring and identifying risks from Appian health checksProven ability to write complex Appian SAIL expressionsExperience setting up custom integrations with external platformsDemonstrated dominance of Appian to the point of being an escalation point that a more junior resources could look to for guidanceCan successfully develop stories independently, requiring minimal feedback from Peer Reviews and QAAppian Certified Senior Developer (Preferred)Experience throughout the software development life cycleStrong grasp of Agile concepts, including understanding of terms and applicable ceremoniesStrong analytical skills, experience designing and delivering complex, highly-scalable software componentsCapable of interpreting, analyzing, and communicating business requirements to development teamCapable of interacting with other teams successfully, with no difficulties understanding or being understoodStrong leadership skills, capable of managing and delegating assignments to junior resourcesCapable of properly executing Code Reviews and ensure adherence to Best Practices, preventing bugs from moving forward to higher environmentsCapable of monitoring and ensuring that all project stories and tasks stay on track to meet commitmentsDemonstrated strong organizational skills, capable of preparing for and leading internal and business-facing meetingsMust be able to multitask efficiently and progressively and work comfortably in an ever-changing data environmentKnowledge of database management systems, such as Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.
