The Lead, Contracting and Tendering plays a critical role in maximizing Sanofi's market position through strategic tender management and shaping with institutional contracting entities including buying groups, cancer centers, and blood services. This role drives profitability by optimizing contract terms while ensuring operational excellence in day-to-day tender, contract, and rebate payment processes.

The incumbent will: 

Manage tender submissions and/or renewals while developing contracting rationales/proposals aligned with GBU commercial strategies, while considering all internal issues and constraints.   

Collaborate closely with commercial management in developing & optimizing contracts with individual hospitals, health authorities, etc., and supporting other business initiatives. 

Negotiate contracts with buying groups, and act as contracting partner to ABMs/Sales Directors when needed in negotiations with other clients.  

Perform business analyses and measure performance to optimize decision-making for tenders/contracts and to process payments.

Integral member of the divestment team.


 

Main Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Tender and Contracts management

Develop, shape, and execute annual tender strategies aligned with GBU commercial objectives

Lead cross-functional collaboration (Commercial, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Quality, Finance) for optimal bid submissions

Submit all tender submissions and contract renewals via tool preferred by contracting entity

Negotiate favorable contracts with buying groups and support Account Business Managers/Sales Directors in client negotiations

Monitor competitor activities and pricing to inform strategic planning

Ensure all contracts comply with relevant regulations, legal requirements and ethical standards.

Business Analysis & Performance Optimization

Conduct comprehensive business analyses to drive data-informed decision-making

Build sophisticated financial models for pricing optimization and P&L assessment

Generate actionable insights from market data to enhance competitive positioning

Maintain and leverage the Sanofi Global tender database with current Canadian information

Organize quarterly tender meetings with franchise heads and finance to inform on contract status and to fulfill compliance requirements.

Operational Excellence

Manage inventory and out-of-stock contract clauses on a timely basis and with precision

Coordinate with customer service to resolve pricing issues efficiently

Lead divestment processes including inventory management and contract reassignment

Maintain meticulous documentation of all tender activities including bid refusals

Set-up and validate system with updated contract pricing

Participate in annual buying groups meeting and monthly blood services meetings

Prepare ad hoc survey or reporting requirements requested by contracting entities.

 

About You

Experience & Skills

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business (Finance/Accounting), Life Sciences, or related field.

MBA or relevant professional certification is an asset

Experience

Minimum 5 years experience in tender/contract management, preferably in healthcare, biopharma, or related regulated industries

Demonstrated success in negotiating complex contracts and optimizing financial outcomes

Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management

Skills & Competencies

Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute winning tender strategies

Financial Acumen: Strong capability in financial modeling and P&L analysis

Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal skills to maintain productive business relationships

Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities

Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite; experience with PowerBI and IQVIA data analysis is an asset

Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly and thrive in a dynamic environment

Languages

Fluency in English required

French proficiency is a valuable asset.

The salary range for this position is:

$108,900.00 - $181,500.00

All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
