What You'll Do

As a conscientious and service-oriented IT Specialist, you will support our employees in the BCG Oslo office as well as our consultants on-site at the customer's premises with all requests in the areas of hardware, software, network, mobility, and building technology on a variety of platforms (e.g., PC, Mac, iOS). You will ensure the worry-free functionality of all Oslo office's IT systems and the consultants' customized solutions at customer sites or events.

 

Your tasks include the support, installation, configuration, and commissioning of hardware and software components, the supervision and troubleshooting of video conferencing and telecommunications systems, the assumption of logistical and administrative activities in the IT environment, such as goods receipt and inventory, as well as the care and maintenance of existing IT systems. In addition, you will document activities in our ticketing system and create technical documentation, instructions, and best practice descriptions. Supporting the implementation of IT projects is also part of your duties, as is conducting internal IT training and events.

 

Key responsibilities

Provide a high level of customer service to BCGs office in Oslo while supporting case teams and office-based staff in a fast-paced environment. Support includes, but is not limited to, laptops, desktops, smartphones, and phone and voice mail systems, home working, both in and outside the office. Manage local technology to increase reliability, security, interoperability, and effectiveness of customer work while reducing costs in the office and at the client site. Understand and effectively discuss services and software provided by IT Service Work with Project Leaders to provide technical (hardware, software, connectivity) solutions at the client site according to established standards. Gather feedback and evaluate the impact of IT Service offerings. Preparing and deploying laptops for staff, including configuration and imaging of laptops Support a variety of operating systems and applications Hardware and software asset tracking and inventory management Coordinate the repair and maintenance of office printers and computing equipment with outside vendors Provide on-site technical support at special events, e.g., executive speeches, press conferences, and offsite meetings. Communicate frequently with end users as well as with local, regional, and global support teams Maintain configurations of all notebook and desktop computer systems according to established BCG requirements Document and update technology-related instructions/procedures/knowledge articles as required Oversee and troubleshoot video conference and telecommunications systems in coordination with regional technical resources Participate in local, regional, and global projects as appropriate. To evaluate existing systems and recommend technology for upgrade and replacement; assess new technologies for potential applicability within BCG Achieve annual goals and objectives, developed in cooperation with IT Service organization and local management

What You'll Bring

You have completed an apprenticeship as an IT specialist, IT business administrator, or comparable education. 2-3 Years of IT Support experience. You have initial professional experience in IT support, ideally in a strongly service-oriented and international corporate environment. You bring in-depth knowledge in hardware and software, telecommunications, mobile devices, networks, server administration, and standard Microsoft products (Windows 10, Windows Server, Mac OS, MS Office, and Cloud File Share). You have experience communicating and presenting technical concepts to management, colleagues, and employees.

Who You'll Work With

You are part of the OSL IT Services team and work closely with your other IT Services colleagues across regional/system and global sites. The team consists of different profiles that complement each other perfectly. Your manager/colleagues will be there to support you during your induction and further development within the company. You can also draw on the experience of your colleagues at any time.
