General Summary:

Provides support by planning, creating, managing, and optimizing processes and operations to facilitate completion of goals and objectives in an efficient and effective way. Identifies and pursues opportunities for improvement, automation, and efficiencies. Collects information and conducts analyses to support decision making, resolve issues, and manage risks. Works closely with other groups (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, finance, facilities) to ensure project elements (e.g., process flow, capacity, materials, and cost) are managed and optimized.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field.

•    4+ years of industrial engineering work experience in a semiconductor, assembly, and/or testing company.

•    1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Identifies gaps and opportunities for improvements in automation or implementation of processes, designs, and operations; anticipates future needs and requirements.
•    Evaluates scope for mid-sized to large projects that create efficiencies in business processes and/or the production of products or services based on production, facility, and/or staff needs.
•    Provides expense justification, conducts capacity/ROI analysis, and develops capital and expense forecasts based on input requirements and design.
•    Creates executable plans containing detailed resource management and implementation guidelines to create and/or improve systems or processes.
•    Manages project timelines and goals leveraging Qualcomm resources, processes, tools, and/or contractors. 
•    Implements solutions to promote efficient and high-quality production elements and outputs (e.g., process flow, capacity, materials).
•    Adapts to significant changes and setbacks in order to manage pressure and meet deadlines while working in partnership with other team members.
•    Collects information, integrates data, and conducts analyses to identify technical or operational issues; makes recommendations for how to address the issue, and works with team to resolve the issue.
•    Contributes to informed decision making for projects, processes, and operations through the use of mathematical and computer modeling and information technology. 
•    Conducts research, analyzes data, and implements solutions to identify risks and contribute to risk mitigation decisions; works with team to manage risks.
•    Contributes to identifying the most effective solution that is aligned with project goals based on technical issues, risks, and costs.
•    Collaborates with team members and various business partners across Qualcomm (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, finance, facilities) to complete project work.
•    Manages multiple relationships with internal customers and suppliers.

Level of Responsibility:
•    Works independently with little supervision.
•    Provides some supervision/guidance to other members; does not have direct reports.
•    Decisions are moderate in nature. Errors are detected and corrected with relatively minor financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships. May require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct.
•    Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. Role may require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents.
•    Works within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department. Erroneous decisions, failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules and result in the re-allocation of some resources.
•    Most tasks do not have defined steps; simultaneous use of multiple mental abilities is generally required to determine the best approach; mistakes may result in significant rework.
•    Creativity is needed to draft original documents, imagery, or work products within established guidelines.
•    Deductive and inductive problem solving is required; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or incomplete; intermediate data analysis/interpretation skills may be required.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$113,600.00 - $170,400.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
