Mercer is seeking candidates for an exciting opportunity in our Mercer Marsh Benefits Consulting Team. The successful candidate will join an existing team of group medical insurance consultants in delivering consulting and broking solutions to some of Ireland's most prominent and well known employers.

Specific experience with medical benefits is highly desirable, as is consulting experience or direct work with corporate clients while working with an insurer. The role will offer the opportunity to work on some of our key corporate clients (both domestic and multinational) and with the Irish medical insurers.

What can you expect:

The Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) Consulting Team operates across our Dublin and Cork offices on a hybrid working pattern of 3 days per week in the office/client sites and 2 days working from home. We deliver health and group risk consulting and technology solutions that address the benefit and wellness needs of our clients and their employees.  The MMB team is currently made up of 14 consultants and analysts, delivering solutions to a portfolio of Irish and international clients. The role involves assisting clients in putting in place, monitoring and reviewing employee medical benefit arrangements, along with providing ad hoc consulting.

This role within the team is intended for a candidate with consulting experience and the qualifications required to consult with clients on medical benefits from Day 1. You will need to understand our clients’ needs and develop solutions efficiently and in line with all regulatory and compliance requirements.

We will rely on you to:

Work with clients to review their Medical and Group Risk programmes/needs and to advise on and implement new programmes.Provide value-added consulting expertise to a wide variety of clients in Ireland.Lead projects and ensure the progress of project teams against established objectives, budgets and timelines.Prepare client presentations and reports that will be presented to senior compensation and benefit stakeholders, senior-level executives, and/or management.Assist in the provision of ad hoc healthcare consulting advice to clients and Mercer colleagues.Manage relationships with clients and deliver new business.Deliver and maintain professional and ethical standards of service to all business partners.Maintain and cultivate relationships with health insurers to achieve best client service and innovative solutions for clients.

What you will need to have:

Full QFA and APA (Personal General Insurance) qualification, or equivalent enabling compliant consulting on group risk and medical benefits.Knowledge of corporate client medical benefit design.Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the Irish employee benefit landscape.Excellent analytical skills, including the use of Microsoft Excel for statistical analysis.Ability to guide project teams and collaborate with others to deliver to clients.Ability to build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.Ability to work within a team environment as a team player and a flexible approach to work.
